Project Story
Seasons worked closely with Regency Centers, a national property management company located in San Diego, CA to create this organic shaped succulent tapestry. Steve Hargrave & Jena Stucker with Regency Centers, wanted to breath life into an existing shopping center and thought the angled wall near Starbucks was a blank canvas for something special. Scott Hutcheon helped design a 36’ X 25’ vertical garden comprised of over 5,000 succulents with 9 different varieties. The Seasons AquaFelt system has 2 layers of felt comprised of recycled plastic bottles, which takes the place of soil over time as the plants roots grow throughout the entire expanse of the wall. It has an integrated fertigation system that wicks water 100% throughout the felt layered wall ensuring even water distribution for all the plants. Felt also breaths versus plastic tray systems, which allows oxygen to get to the plants roots easily. This all leads to happy plants and low maintenance, which in turn leads to happy customers and sustainable long lasting vertical gardens.
